Spectacular Photographs, thrilled Visitors – the 6. Dauner Fototage just ended successfully

Dear Friends,

the 6. Dauner Fototage, an event that brought more than 2000 photography interested visitors to the little town of Daun in the picturesque Eifel just ended.

Sven and Laali, who supported Sven’s father Hans in organizing this event, also set up a table presenting the Standbild Dauner Fototagebook Stella Polaris* Ulloriarsuaq – The Shining Memory of Mother Earth.

Beautifully layed out, this book portrays in 45 large color prints the stunning photographs the team took in 2012 and 2013 in Greenland and also 23 exciting „making of“ photos in black and white.

The wonderful poetical essays by philosopher Dr. Christoph Quarch are much more than just text fillers in a picture book. The three essays Remain true to the Earth!, Melting the Ice in the Heart of Man and The Truth about Preservation give much food for thought about where we are going and what has to change. I hope to be interviewing Christoph soon to give you more insight and will be glad to ask him questions you might have.

NUUNU, THE ONE TO BE BORN

(c) 2012 Stella Polaris* Ulloriarssuaq/ Nomi Baumgartl & Sven Nieder / Light Ambassador Laali Lyberth

Tech Data: Leica S, Elmarit-S 30 mm, ISO 320, F. 2.8, 60 seconds

Even though it looks like taken on another planet, the iridescent green light is of the Aurora Borealis.

„You can even see the Pleiades star constellation on the right. In the foreground is an ice sculpture shaped like a hatched egg. This picture is dedicated to Laali who was light ambassador for this scene and her unborn child. She was eight months pregnant with Sven’s child during this expedition. Sven assisted me to capture this image because the conditions made it very hard to handle the technical details. This is the only image of which can be said we really took it together.“ Nomi

Next stop for the works of Stella Polaris* Ulloriarsuaq will be in Munich at the Gallery of Filser & Gräf in April.
